AI Chat Tools for Marketing: Copy and Personas
Vendor pages document different prices, usage limits, and data controls, but do not show which assistant fits a particular marketing copy or persona workflow.
Sources checked 3 Oct 2026
OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google document prices, plan features, usage rules, data controls, and accuracy cautions, but do not show how any one assistant will handle your campaign’s copy or persona brief. Chat Picker has not tested the assistants for this use, so this guide separates published terms from the judgments your own trial must make.
What the vendors document
Plans and prices
All vendor figures below are reproduced as read on October 2026; listed prices are in US dollars.
- ChatGPT. OpenAI lists Plus at $20 per month and says it adds model and tool access, more messages, image generation, uploads, analysis, and Deep Research where available; API usage is separate. OpenAI’s Plus page. Higher-use Pro tiers cost $100, $200, and $500 per month. OpenAI’s Pro tiers. No US-dollar Go price is stated on OpenAI’s Go page, so Chat Picker leaves it blank.
- Claude. Anthropic lists Free at $0, Pro at $20 monthly or $17 per month with annual billing ($200 up front), and Max from $100 per month. No paid tier appears between Free and Pro. Pro adds more usage, projects, Docs, and Slides; Max offers 5x or 20x Pro usage. Anthropic’s pricing page.
- Gemini. Google lists Free at $0, AI Plus at $4.99 per month, AI Pro at $19.99, and AI Ultra at $99.99 for 5x Pro limits or $199.99 for 20x. Plus and Pro list video generation and Daily Brief; their storage allowances are 400 GB and 5 TB, respectively. Google’s AI plans page.
- Team seats. OpenAI Business and Anthropic Team both list Standard seats at $25 monthly or $20 annually per user and Premium seats at $125 monthly or $100 annually. Business requires at least two seats; Team covers 2–150 people. OpenAI’s Business overview and Claude pricing. Google’s page did not settle a business price, so Chat Picker marks it Not verified.
Limits and data
For long brand inputs, OpenAI lists app context of 27K on Free, 54K on Go and Plus, and 128K on Pro for instant models; reasoning models have 256K on Go and Plus and 400K on Pro. OpenAI does not publish exact message counts on its pricing page. OpenAI’s app pricing. Anthropic says context can reach 1M on every plan, depending on the model; Pro limits use a rolling five-hour window and a weekly limit. Anthropic pricing and Pro plan details. Google says limits vary with prompt complexity, features, and chat length, refresh every five hours until the weekly limit, and can be extended with AI credits. Gemini Apps limits help.
OpenAI says signed-in Free, Go, Plus, and Pro users can turn off model improvement. Temporary chats are not used for improvement and may be retained for up to 30 days for safety; Business content is not used for training by default. OpenAI’s Data Controls help. Anthropic says chats and coding sessions improve models only when the user allows it; incognito chats are excluded, and Team is not trained on by default. Anthropic’s model-training article. The Gemini Apps Privacy Hub describes signed-in processing but does not state a model-improvement setting, so that point remains unverified.
Accuracy, cancellation, and support
OpenAI says ChatGPT may sound confident when wrong and recommends treating it as a first draft. Anthropic says not to rely on Claude as the only source of truth and to check original websites. OpenAI’s accuracy guidance and Claude’s accuracy guidance. Gemini sometimes displays a Sources panel, but a link does not validate the surrounding claim; open the source. Google’s source guidance.
For personal and self-service Business subscriptions, OpenAI says cancellation stops renewals but does not automatically refund prior charges. Canceling at least 24 hours before the next billing date avoids the next period’s charge; Apple and Google Play subscriptions must be canceled through those stores. OpenAI’s cancellation guide. Claude Free, Pro, and Max users can export conversation and account data through web or desktop; Team and Enterprise exports are restricted to the Primary Owner, and download links expire after 24 hours. Claude’s export guide.
Claude support is written, varies by plan, and has no phone option. Claude support. OpenAI Support starts with a virtual assistant who may bring in a human, while its Developer Community excludes ChatGPT app discussion. OpenAI Support and Developer Community. Google offers expert support to One members and provides a Gemini Apps Community.
What the documentation cannot tell you
The vendor pages do not compare output speed, unsupported persona assumptions, voice consistency across a campaign, multilingual adaptation, or editing time. They cannot show how an assistant will handle your offer, audience evidence, or brand guide.
Chat Picker has no survey, review, ratings, or user data behind this page and has produced no tests, scores, or rankings. An older version contained unsourced statistics and test results; they have been removed.
How to check it yourself
Run each test in a fresh chat on the plan you would actually buy.
-
Ad copy. Give each assistant: “Create three headlines and two body variants for a $35 refillable stainless-steel travel mug aimed at commuters. Use a direct, practical tone, avoid health claims, and label every assumption.” Record response time, missed constraints, unsupported claims, and editing time.
-
Persona evidence. Give each: “Build a persona for a U.S. online shopper buying a $35 travel mug. Separate supplied facts from assumptions and attach a source note to every demographic or spending claim.” Check stereotypes, contradictions, and source quality; record every unsupported trait.
-
Brand voice. Give each: “Ridgeway sells durable refillable bottles. Write plainly, never use ‘revolutionary’ or ‘guilt-free,’ and avoid unsupported environmental claims. Produce headlines and body copy that follow this brief.” Record voice drift, prohibited terms, invented claims, and revisions.
-
Multilingual adaptation. Ask each: “Adapt the Ridgeway commuter-bottle campaign into Spanish and German. Preserve the offer and constraints, localize idiom, and label any assumption.” Have a fluent reviewer mark meaning changes, awkward phrasing, and added promises; record corrections.
-
Cost and limits. Run the first four tests again. Record the plan price, limits shown before use, any cap or upgrade prompt, separate charges displayed, and editor time. Do not convert included access into an assumed per-task cost.
-
Overall suitability. Before reviewing outputs, mark factual support, voice fit, multilingual quality, workflow fit, export, cancellation, and support as must-have, useful, or not needed. Keep evidence beside each decision; do not turn vendor feature lists into a quality score.
Which rows of the comparison matter
Open the ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Gemini matrix. Prioritize rows covering free, low-cost, main, and high-use prices; team seats; app context; usage-limit wording; plan features; training controls; storage; export and cancellation; and support or community routes.
Treat Not verified as missing information, not as zero. Each populated price or limit carries a vendor source and read date, following Chat Picker’s sourcing method, but the matrix contains no Chat Picker quality result.
