Best AI Chatbot for Your Industry: What to Test
Vendor pages document different prices, limits, file rules, and data controls, so compare those facts before testing each assistant on real industry tasks.

For the best AI chatbot for your industry, vendor pages establish the practical envelope: plans, prices, limits, file rules, data controls, and stated safeguards. They do not show which assistant handles your documents, terminology, exceptions, or workflow best. Chat Picker has not tested ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini for this use, so this page provides a documented comparison and test plan, not a ranking.
What the vendors document for the best AI chatbot
The vendor facts below were as read on October 2026; check the linked page before subscribing because plan terms can change. OpenAI lists ChatGPT Plus at $20 per month. Anthropic's Pro Help page lists Claude Pro at $20 per month in the US. Google's US plans page lists Google AI Pro at $19.99 per month.
For the paid plans, OpenAI says Plus provides broader model and tool access, including voice, image generation, file uploads, and Deep Research where available. Anthropic lists Claude Code, Claude Design, Slides, Docs, projects, additional models, and Microsoft 365 access for Pro. Google says AI Pro provides higher app usage and 5 TB of storage.
Published limits use different systems. ChatGPT's pricing page describes unlimited everyday text chats on Free, separate tool limits, and no exact message counts. Claude's Pro limits vary with message, file, and conversation length and the model or feature used; five-hour and weekly limits apply. Gemini limits vary with prompt complexity, features, and chat length, refreshing every five hours until a weekly limit is reached.
For uploads, ChatGPT sets a 512MB hard limit per file, a 2M-token cap for each text or document, and three uploads per day for Free users. Claude lists 500MB per chat file and 30MB per project file. Gemini lists up to 10 files per prompt, 100MB for non-video files, and 2GB per video.
For training controls, ChatGPT says opt-out is available on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro, while OpenAI says Business workspace data is not used for training. Claude lists opt-out on Free, Pro, and Max and says Team is not trained on by default. The Gemini plans page does not state a chat-training setting, so that point is not verified.
All three vendors acknowledge unreliable output. OpenAI says ChatGPT can be incorrect or misleading and may sound confident while wrong. Claude's Help Center says not to rely on it as the only source of truth and to inspect original sources. Gemini Apps sometimes shows sources, while Google's guidelines describe LLM outputs as probabilistic and acknowledge limited viewpoints and overgeneralizations.
Usage policies also set boundaries. OpenAI's policy prohibits tailored advice requiring a license without appropriate professional involvement and automated high-stakes decisions without human review. Anthropic's Usage Policy classifies legal guidance as high risk and calls for qualified professional review. Google's guidelines identify harmful medical and physical-safety inaccuracies among outputs Gemini should not generate.
What the documentation cannot tell you
The pages do not reveal how an assistant handles your case set: missed domain exceptions, altered terminology, unreadable tables, misplaced citations, or deadline fit. A context or upload ceiling does not reveal usable capacity after files and tools, and plan prices do not reveal total workflow effort at your volume. Only your own inputs and scoring method can answer those questions.
The former version of this page contained statistics and test results without sources; they are not used here.
How to check it yourself
Run each case in a fresh chat, using the plan and account settings you expect to use in production.
-
Build the test bank. Give: a de-identified set covering routine work, exceptions, poor scans, spreadsheets, and long documents. Use this prompt: “Review the attached policy and customer complaint. List missing facts, cite the exact page or cell for each finding, and label every inference.” Look for: missed terms, exceptions, and assumptions. Write down: input type, plan, date, and required corrections.
-
Score only verifiable answers. Give: cases with a known answer. Ask: “Answer the attached question using only the supplied record. Return the answer, supporting passage, and any missing information.” Look for: unsupported claims and source mismatches. Write down: errors by type. Keep the result limited to your test set rather than treating it as a general ranking.
-
Stress-test policy boundaries. Give: a sample involving sensitive data or a consequential decision. Ask: “Identify what must be escalated under the attached policy. Do not make a final legal, medical, financial, employment, or eligibility decision.” Look for: unsafe handling, ignored restrictions, disclosure, and human-review cues. Write down: any escalation failure and the source used.
-
Measure workflow effort. Give: the same spreadsheet or document task. Ask: “Analyze the attached spreadsheet. Show relevant cell references and calculations, list assumptions, and flag conflicting entries.” Look for: completeness and manual rework. Write down: elapsed time, retries, tokens or credits shown by the interface, and remaining fixes.
-
Test iteration. Give: a correction after the first answer. Ask: “Revise the answer using the attached correction. Preserve facts that did not change, identify what changed, and cite the supporting source again.” Look for: stable facts and consistent citations. Write down: corrections accepted, repeated contradictions, and evidence that still needs checking.
Which rows of the comparison matter
Use the full Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini matrix. Start with the rows for Free plan, low-cost tier, main paid plan, heavy-use plans, team plan, context window in the app, usage limits, training on chats, and ads. For a document-heavy workflow, then verify each linked vendor's current upload rules.
The matrix uses US dollars unless a cell says otherwise, gives each figure a vendor source and read date, and leaves unconfirmed figures blank. Confirm current pricing before subscribing and review the site's sourcing method.
